et al.: happy first day of Spring!
By WDavidStephenson | February 14, 2008
You can get sick from
eating too many Godiva chocolates on Valentine’s Day, but peer-reviewed research from the Harvard Medical School demonstrates that you can never get enough baseball, right?
Yes, as astronomers know, it’s the baseball equinox today, the time when the sun is shining directly over the Grapefruit League, even if Spring seems far away in these northern climes.
Pitchers and catchers report to Ft. Myers at noon as the Red Sox go for two in a row (although there would be a nice bit of symmetry if the Cubbies were to win, a century since their last triumph…) . Kinda makes all the grim stuff recede in importance, non?
Now if we can only collectively will my neighbor, Mr. Schilling, back to full health.
Go Sox!
PS: the photo is a Boston Globe one of Jon Lester, who couldn’t wait til camp opened to start twirling.
